A9 - Wickrathberg
May 9, 2023Just south of Mönchen-Gladbach, between the villages of Wickrathberg and Hochneukirch, a diamond-shaped encampment had been set up in the fields in 1945. Now there is a large industrial estate in the former Rheinwiesenlager and a motorway runs through it.

At the edge of the fields, southeast of Wickrathberg, along the Hochneukircherweg to Hochneukirch, is a memorial stone (see Denkmal on the map). This memorial stands in the former Rheinwiesenlager.

At this sad-looking memorial, we again said our prayers to God, our Dear Lord and the Alkracht, requesting that these heavy-laden fields be illuminated with Love, Light and Peace.
