An industrial estate had sprung up on the fields of this former Rheinwiesenlager.
We could find a quiet road at the edge of this industrial area and yet in the
middle of the Rheinwiesenlager. It was the Entenweiherweg, which ended in a mud
path. This path ran straight towards the Rhine.
Sinzig's Rheinwiesenlager housed many women and children. The women mainly
worked in field hospitals and field kitchens during the war. Many of them and
their children perished here in Sinzig.
Because of possible crowds, we avoided the monument on the north-east side of these fields.
We prayed God, our Dear Lord, the Alforce to bring and spread Love, Light and thus Peace in these fields, so that unimaginable suffering could be alleviated.

A year later, we were in the area anyway, so we still visited the memorial in
Sinzig. We found this one at a junction of Rheinallee and Linzerstraße.
An English woman was at the memorial (Mahnmal) drawing and painting. When she
finished at the memorial, we spoke to each other for a while. Surely it is
striking that two foreigners in Germany talk to each other about a Rheinwiesenlager
Mahnmal. The woman looked at it as an artist. What the memorial stood for she did
not know. She did not master the German language. I carefully told her a little
of what this memorial stood for.
